Páirc Lámh Dhearg Strategic Development

The Executive Committee established a Development Committee in 2008 to explore the feasibility of developing the Páirc Lámh Dhearg complex through targeted fund raising and government grant funding streams that may be accessible.

The concept was simple, develop the lands and facilities at Páirc Lámh Dhearg to facilitate new and extended community and club amenities whilst providing future revenue that would supplement a sustainable long term future for Lámh Dhearg C.L.G. for decades to come.

Upon examining the Club’s current position & infrastructure it was quickly realised that our biggest assets were land and accessibility from surrounding areas including west Belfast and the surrounding country side. The Development Committee set about drawing up proposals and a business strategy that exploited those two key virtues.

To date several key objectives have been achieved as the Development Committee progresses its aims:

  1. Preparation of a Strategic Plan addressing development of all areas of Club business.
  2. Recommendation and set up of a new club structure with a series of Committees and Sub-committees addressing specific target areas within the club engaging 30+ members
  3. Acquired additional 4.2 acres of land to accommodate the long term master plan with three pitches within the site. This means Páirc Lámh Dhearg now boasts a total of 18 acres of land.
  4. Obtained Planning Permission for a new full size 3g pitch with floodlighting to the north west of the site.
  5. Obtained Planning Permission for a new vehicular entrance further along the Upper Springfield Road to future proof any development proposals.
  6. Design proposals completed for new Community and Multi-Sport facility. Ready for lodgement of Planning application.
  7. Recommendation of the funds raising streams required including the current Grand Prize Draw.
  8. Formulation of the Ulster Council Club Maith Gold Award, which is an approved accreditation for Funding Organisations.
  9. Development of a 5 yr business plan.
  10. Working diligently with Executive Committee towards the “State of Readiness” required by major funding agencies, involving all club activities.
